
A venomous pit viper native to Southern California. Typically grows about 2-4 feet long and has a heavy body with dark brown or gray blotches. It is recognized by the distinctive rattle at the end of its tail and should always be observed from a safe distance. A bite is a serious medical emergency that can cause severe tissue damage, serious health complications and some cases death.

A non venomous snake native to North America, typically growing 3_7 feet long. They usually have yellow, cream or tan coloring with dark brown or black blotches. When threatened they may flatten their head, hiss loudly and shake their tail to mimic a rattlesnake.

King snakes are powerful constrictors and are known for eating rodents , lizards and other snakes including rattlesnakes.
